17.01.2020: January 17, 2020:With their commitment to the environment, the United Dancers e.V. Fürstenwalde/Spree secured a Silver Star of Sports. With the dance show "Power of Elements," the dancers from Brandenburg move on to the final for the Great Gold Star, which will be awarded on January 21 in Berlin. The "Sterne des Sports" competition is an initiative of the German Olympic Sports Confederation and the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken in Germany, recognizing the socio-political contribution of sports clubs, especially their exceptional voluntary commitment.

Bei den Recherchen zur Tanzshow, die sich mit der Kraft der Elemente auseinandersetzt, wurde dem Verein immer stärker bewusst, wie bedroht unsere Natur ist durch mehr und mehr Müll. Die Konsequenz: „In allen Tanzräumen wurden Behälter zur Mülltrennung aufgestellt. In der Show selbst spielte der Fürstenwalder Stadtrabe Waldemar eine wichtige Rolle. Er stand beispielhaft für alle Tiere, die weltweit unter Plastikmüll leiden. Das Publikum konnte sich vor und nach der Show über Mülltrennung informieren und sich Tipps holen, was jeder einzelne für die Umwelt tun kann.“

December 14, 2019: About two years ago, the German Cycling Federation (BDR) and AKTIONFahrRAD (AFR) jointly launched the German School Mountain Bike Championship. Started with schools from Bavaria, Berlin, and North Rhine-Westphalia, schools from Lower Saxony and Thuringia are now also participating. The goal is to eventually welcome schools from all federal states at the German School Championship in Berlin.

The cooperative partners are convinced that preferences for mobility and physical activity are formed in adolescence, and they use the sports competition to inspire children and young people for climate protection and a healthy, active lifestyle.
