Premiere in Düsseldorf: Am Freitag, 24.11.2023 wurde im Zuge des Deutschen Nachhaltigkeitstages im Maritim Hotel der nordrhein-westfälischen Landeshauptstadt erstmals der Deutsche Nachhaltigkeitspreis Sport vergeben. Und wir sind mit Sports for Future mittendrin: Stefan Wagner ist Jurymitglied.

The DNP Sport is aimed at sports stakeholders and recognizes exemplary measures and products that advance sustainability in the sports sector. With the best examples, the new award aims to promote the further development of the sustainability idea in sports, the sports public, and the sports industry. This year's finalists also included partners from our SFF network: In addition to TSG Hoffenheim and SpVgg Feuerbach 1883 e.V., selected for the category Sports Clubs / Associations, the PreZero Arena and TSC Eintracht Dortmund made it to the finals in the category Sports Facilities and Installations of all providers. BadmintONEarth, the first sustainability project in badminton initiated by us, Miranda Wilson, Kai Schäfer, and the Zenaga Foundation, reached the finals in the Sustainability Heroes of Everyday Life category.

In der Kategorie Sportverbände und -vereine konnte unser Unterstützer, die Sportvereinigung Feuerbach 1883 e.V. den Deutschen Nachhaltigkeitspreis Sport gewinnen. Herzlichen Glückwunsch!!
Des Weiteren waren die Sieger*innen der Kategorie Sportstätten und Vereinsanlagen aller Träger der Landessportbund Hessen e.V., in der Kategorie (Groß-)Veranstaltungen, Spieltage und Sportfeste Der Special Olympics Deutschland e.V. und in der Kategorie Sportartikel, Sportgeräte und -kleidung KHULULA UG. Zudem haben in der der Kategorie Sportmedien und Sportpublikationen mycrocast GmbH und in der Kategorie Nachhaltigkeitsheldinnen und -helden des Alltags der Badische Behinderten- und Rehabilitationssportverband e.V. (BBS) das Rennen gemacht.

Earlier, Stefan participated in a panel discussion on the topic "Transformation of the Sports Business – A Billion-Dollar Market is Changing." Together with Alina Nagel (Manager Financial Services Transformation, PwC GmbH), Nico Briskorn (Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, VfL Wolfsburg-Fußball GmbH), and Stefan Seidel (Senior Head of Corporate Sustainability, PUMA SE), they discussed how sustainability is changing the sports scene: What is already working? Where is there room for improvement? Which stakeholders are responsible?
