The foundation and Sports for Future sign a cooperation agreement to emphasise their collaboration..

On 19 February 2024, Dr Olivia Henke and Peter Renner, board members of the Alliance for Development and Climate Foundation, signed a cooperation agreement with Stefan Wagner, chairman and founding member of Sports for Future e. V. (SFF), underlining their close collaboration for sustainable development and holistic climate action.

"The cooperation with Sports for Future marks a significant step in our mission. Together we are committed to sustainability in sport and an active contribution to climate protection," said Peter Renner, Chairman of the Board of the Alliance for Development and Climate Foundation. Dr Olivia Henke, Director of the Foundation, added: "The Foundation and Sports for Future share the conviction that sport can be a transformative force for positive change. This partnership strengthens our commitment to a sustainable future."

Since its foundation in 2019, the association, which was initiated by one of the first supporters of the Alliance for Development and Climate, TSG Hoffenheim, has been promoting climate and environmental protection from the perspective of sport. SFF brings together various stakeholders from the world of sport and uses the unifying power of sport to tackle the challenges of the climate crisis. In doing so, Sports for Future supports the world of sport in becoming part of a climate-friendly future.

"Unusual social alliances and new partnerships are needed to tackle the climate crisis. The cooperation between the Alliance for Development and Climate Foundation and our association Sports for Future e.V. is just such an alliance," says Stefan Wagner, 1st Chairman of Sports for Future. And Claudia Fischer, 2nd Chairwoman, represented by Antonia Böckmann at the signing of the contract, adds: "Together we want to find innovative ways to get sport moving, raise awareness of the climate crisis and generate impact through concrete projects."

The Alliance for Development and Climate Foundation and Sports for Future are working together to achieve the United Nations' SDGs. Through projects such as awareness-raising, information, education and reforestation campaigns, they are bringing the topic of sustainable development and holistic climate protection to the centre of public attention.

The first joint project will be carried out on 15 April 2024.
